The original writer of this work is Jaina writer Naagavarma who belongs to the middle of the 12th century. This book consists of 2 works Kaavyaavalokana and Karnataka Bhaashaabhushana both by the same writer. The latter work is in Sanskrit language treats more exhaustively of the subject of Kannada Grammar than the first work which is devoted to a brief exposition in Kannada of the same subject. These two works are the earliest of the Kannada and Sanskrit works on the grammar of the Kannada language and they have been expanded by the later grammarians. The Author of this book collected the previous publications and further material, scrutinized, edited and and brought out this book which is very useful to Kannada grammar lovers.
