In India from time immemorial the scriptures have been interpreted as one conservative and another liberal. Each claims to be orthodox, being itself on thesupport of scriptures and other religious texts and hoary usage. Although Ramanuja claimed in his lifetime to be an orthodox follower, was really an illustrious exponent of the liberal tradition. The Author has eminently discussed Sri Raamaanuja as a social emancipator in this book. Very good and interesting read in English.
