This book by the Author is based on the commentary on Vishnupuraana by Sri Vishnuchitta, who is famous by the name in Tamil "Engal Azvan". The Author searched in the Oriental Library in Chennai for commentaries on Sri Vishnu Puraana and found two commentaries - one by Sri Vishnuchitta and the other by Sri Sreedhareeya and selected the commentary by Sri Vishnuchitta as her thesis for her doctorate. Vishunu Puraana is one of the Satvika Puraana by Sage Parashara, the father of Sage Vedavyaasa and is considered as Aadhi Puraana among the 18 puraanaas. It is also called Puraana Rathna' as it is hailed by Sri Yamunaachaarya in his 'Stotrarathna'. This is a well researched book on Vishnu Puraana. Read on. Unfortunately some pages are partly illegible and as soon as a better copy is received will be replaced.
