The Bhaavaprakaashana of Saaraadaatanaya was first published in 1930 as No. 45 of the Gaekwad's Oriental Series. The Author Sri Yadugiri Yathiraaja Jeeyar Swamy collected many manuscripts, scrutinized, edited and gave it to Gaekwad Oriental Series for publication. The subject of the book is Dramaturgy (the theory and practice of dramatic composition) and Rasa (sentiment, flavor, emotion) and the method adopted follows Naatyasaastra of Bharata. This book has is important for supplying data regarding the views and opinions held by the predecessors of Saaradaatanaya. The value of the book is further enhanced by the fact that it mentions a large number of excellent dramas and poems composed by eminent writers as examples of different kinds of Roopakaas and Uparoopakas which existed in his time. It is a very good book to read. The English section of this book is written by the Co-author Sri K. S. Ramaswami Sastri.
