The original Writer of this work is Choundaraaja. He has written Dashakumaara Charite and Baanaasura Vijaya in addition to this work. The Authors found a manuscript in 1928 and based on this have edited, printed and published this book as Champu Kavya. The story is about Nala and Dhamayanthi, their marriage, separation and meeting again and being happy. The poet has written in the end that whoever reads or listens to this tory will attain Sadgathi. People with the knowledge of old Kannada will surely love this book.

The Author was born in Mysore in a Srivaishnava family. He completed his education in Mysore and obtained a Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) in Shantiniketan. He worked as the Director in Oriental Research Institute Mysore. He was a great person with many achievements and recipient of many awards and accolades. He was a scholar and prolific editor who wrote, translated and edited over 23 works in 4 languages, including translations from manuscripts and supported by 33 publications in 68 library holdings. These works have found their place in libraries across the world as well as the British Museum.
