Prof. Dr. M A Lakshmithathachar is a Ubhaya Vedantha Scholar and a Scientist of ancient Hindu Science. He strives to build a bridge been the ancient Hindu Science and the modern science and to a large extent has been successful. He is the recipient of President of India award for outstanding scholarship in Sanskrit and contribution to build a bridge between the Ancient Knowledge Systems and Modern Science. He is also recipient of Citizen of the Age of Enlightenment award by Maharshi Mahesh Yogi International Academy of Science, Ramanuja Paduka Sevaka award by Sri Kumara Venkatachariar Sadhabhisekha Mahotsavam 2001 and many other awards, accolades, titles and certificates of honor conferred by various other Institutions.
He has been Founder Joint Secretary, Registrar and Director of Academy of Sanskrit Research, Melkote for more than 2 decades.
In his capacity as a Ancient Science Scholar he has been the Chairman of Centre for literary Research and lead the Medical Manuscripts Programme in Indian Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (IIAIM), Foundation for Revitalization of Local Health Traditions (FRLHT), Bangalore.
Currently he is the President, Samskrti Foundation, Mysore (www.samskrti.org), Member, Academic Council, & Visiting Professor, VYASA University, Bangalore (www.vyasa.org), Senior Honorary Advisor, FRLHT, A centre of excellence under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Bangalore (www.frlht.org).
On the Vendantic front he is an Acharya for a large section of Mandayam Iyengars and guides them on the way of Srivaishnava life as necessary. He has written / Translated many Hindu Scriptures from other languages to Kannada and English.
